Camera-Based Parking Guidance System for Indoor Parking
Boost Parking Efficiency with a Camera-Based Parking Guidance System
This project showcases the implementation of our Camera-Based Parking Guidance System, powered by G.hn Wave-1 Technology for high-speed data transmission over existing power lines. The infrastructure is segmented into multiple branches, each isolated by our proprietary LineWave Filter to ensure stable and interference-free communication. Up to 14 SmartWave 1000 units are deployed per branch, with each unit featuring two camera-based sensors capable of monitoring three parking spaces per camera. These devices stream live video and perform local license plate recognition (LPR). All data within a branch is transmitted via G.hn to a dedicated LineWave 1000, which serves as the modem for that segment From there, all information is transmitted over 1 Gbps Ethernet to the server infrastructure for real-time processing and centralized parking management.
To better understand the system’s layout and the specific components used in this project, take a look at the detailed installation diagram below, which illustrates all the key elements and their integration within the parking facility:

SmartWave 1000 devices serve as a key component in the Camera-Based Parking Guidance System for efficient parking management. These devices stream real-time data, detecting occupancy status and signaling via LED indicators. In addition to parking space detection, SmartWave 1000 performs license plate recognition (LPR), enhancing security and tracking. The system transmits all data over the power line using Wave 1 G.hn technology, allowing the integration of both high-speed data and power transmission in a single medium, optimizing infrastructure while ensuring reliable, interference-free communication.
Easy Installation of the Camera-Based Parking Guidance System
Our team designed the Camera-Based Parking Guidance System to enable fast, flexible installation. In this project, the SmartWave 1000 devices are mounted on a ceiling-mounted rail positioned at the center of each driving lane. As shown in the image, each device includes a visible LED that signals the real-time status of parking spaces.
Thanks to G.hn Wave-1 Technology, both power and data are transmitted through a single power supply cable, significantly reducing installation complexity and infrastructure costs. Only one connection per device is needed no additional cabling or network infrastructure.
To adapt to the diverse layouts of real-world parking facilities, both cameras on each SmartWave 1000 can be remotely adjusted in horizontal and vertical orientation, making alignment easy even after physical mounting. Installers simply connect the device, place it on the rail, and fine-tune its field of view remotely.
