LineWave 1500 is an advanced G.hn Wave-2 powerline communication modem designed for high-speed, reliable data transmission over DC powerlines up to 48V. With gigabit-level throughput and extended reach up to 300 meters, it surpasses traditional Ethernet and PoE solutions. Building on the extensive knowledge gained from the development of the LineWave 1000, which utilizes G.hn Wave-1 Technology, the LineWave 1500 now leverages the advanced capabilities of G.hn Wave-2 Technology. As a result, this next-generation modem takes communication network transmission to the next level, offering improved data rates, stability, and performance. Moreover, it maintains compatibility with existing systems.
The LineWave 1500 provides adaptable data rates depending on the distance between nodes along each branch. For typical distances under 100 meters, data rates range from approximately 1.5 Gbps to 1 Gbps. However, for distances exceeding 300 meters, speeds may decrease to around 500 Mbps. This flexibility allows high-performance applications such as video transmission, where each camera node can support up to two video cameras.
To prevent attenuation of the data rate across different branches, it is important to implement a LineWave Filter on the powerline for each branch created.
Consequently, each filter will isolate the branch data transmission, avoiding interference with others. The filter should, therefore, be installed upstream, as the branch data transmission will be seen by the rest of the branches.
Next Generation Bandwidth for Industrial Networks
With a total bandwidth of 1.2 Gbps, the effective bandwidth per device is approximately 137 Mbps when multiplexed across all nodes. As a result, this allows for video transmission at different resolutions and frame rates within this capacity. Specifically, the system can support:
- 4K video at 30 fps for up to 5-9 streams.
- Full HD (1080p) at 30 fps for up to 17-34 streams.
- HD (720p) at 60 fps for up to 23-34 streams.
This approach not only optimizes the available bandwidth but also allows each device to transmit high-quality video. Moreover, even when more distant devices require additional transmission time, the system maintains high performance. Consequently, LineWave 1500 is ideal for video surveillance, monitoring, or any other high-demand video application, ensuring reliable performance even in networks with multiple nodes.
